As the seasons begin to change, Summer giving way to Autumn, we began with our next building project.

We had to clear the site first, which was over run with brambles acting like mafia mobs - over powering the less vigorous growers and expanding in all directions. Once removed though we discovered beautiful Azaleas, Rhododendrons and Aloes amongst other plants which had been hidden and deprived of full sunlight for years.

The space we decided to choose for our third cabin is on a soft slope, in the open sunshine and tucked amongst Rhododendrons, Azaleas, Hydrangeas and Ericas. There is a great big beautiful Protea tree which will be adjacent to the deck once it has been built - a perfect spot to watch the sunbirds and sugarbirds feeding from the Protea flowers over summer. This cabin also has an incredible view into the Pine Forest which lies on the other side of the river which forms our Western boundary, and the sound of the waterfall is an ever present soothing hum to the ears.
